Father's Day

Happy father's day to all fathers and fathers-of-fathers and to-be-fathers and fathers-of-to-be-fathers etc.

Celebrated father's day with dad today, so the first thing i did after breakfast this morning was: MOP FLOOR. okay, so its not very linked to celebrating the day itself, but since it was done at my dad's request, i did it. Then, the whole family (minus my sister cos she's working at the IT fair) brainstormed for a place to eat, everything i suggested was rejected. In the end, we headed down to Vivo City cos my dad wanted to look at watches.

reached there, walked around the whole place to find something to eat. all the nice restaurants i suggested were still turned down. after not finding anything for half an hour, they asked me whether there was a marché at Vivo, marché being my very first suggestion. there was one at the third storey, but it was seriously packed. then they asked whether there was a jack's place, which was my second suggestion from the very beginning. there wasn't. so in the end, we settled for this place called the "White Dog Café" cos my dad stared at its menu for around 10 mins.

went in, ordered 4 main dishes: lamb chop, texas ribs, pork knuckle (my dad's really fond of pork knuckles, i hate it) & tenderloin steak. all of them came with mashed taters (except ribs, which came with fries), and salad and corn. and i swear to god, IT WAS THE BEST MEAL I HAD IN MONTHS. SERIOUSLY.

Look at the photo below. this was taken barely 5 minutes after the orders came to our table. out of the three in the photo, two of them are already almost cleared, and look at the size of the pork knuckle and compare it to the knife. it's HUGE.

The tenderloin steak was the most expensive, and it was also the smallest serving. my favourite was the lamb chop, it was grilled to perfection and you could really taste the herbs used in the cooking. i wanted to have mango pudding after everything, but maybe because it's THAT good, there wasn't any left for me.
White Dog Café is located at 1 HarbourFront Walk #02-131/132 VivoCity S'pore 098585 Tel:6376 9970

After that, we walked around Vivo, then i had a bright idea to go buy some chocolate fondants from beard papa (see below). If you like chocolate then get it. there's no need to elaborate further.

I was sick actually with two kinds of sicknesses, due to reasons i won't disclose. one's a real sickness, the other's due to something else. Anyways, didn't go out at night, had meat porridge for dinner while watching 'charlie and the chocolate factory' on channel 5. Made myself some 'Happy Soda' (see Below). it's that nice, thats why the name. really, it's damn good. ask me where to get some, or just ask me how to make it, it's cheaper if you do it yourself.
