LOOK WHOOS BACK~

wellwellwell, here i am again, back in the blogosphere. last blog was deleted cos it was "found out", 3 years of blogging down the drain cos i didn't know that you can actually restrict people from entering, but nevermind that...

what motivated me to restart my blog was the amount of lousy food I've been getting these days, and i've got nowhere to complain to, so here i am...

okay, so i had dinner at this place called "Lagun Sari Indonesian Seafood", located at 76 Peck Seah Street, right outside tanjongpagar mrt. it was very attractive, offering an 'a la carte' buffet and a 1-for-1 package. On its front door i saw that they were certified by suria as "the most healthy food outlet 2006", and saw some other certificates commenting the restaurant on its healthy food and stuff.

So i had 2 sets of the $25 package with my family, and ordered a few cups of orange juice as well. waited awhile, and the first dish out was the soup-f-the-day, tomyam soup. tasted normal, nothing much to it. next came a dish that looked like deep-fried buns, but when i cut it open, it was actually beancurd with filling. What's so healthy about beancurd with filling, dipped in batter and deep-fried? Plus, our drinks and rice has not come at that moment...

The third dish came, on the menu it was described as some vegetable stirfried with squid, but when i saw the dish, i only spotted 6-7 thin strips of sotong, and a heap of vegetables. it was served on a platter that is no bigger than a piece of A5 paper.

rice came, drinks did not. seems that they didn't take down the order. Luckily they didn't, cos it turned out that the "orange juice" was in fact: orange concentrate....

the other dishes came soon after, all served on dishes that were postcard sized, 6 by 4 inches at the most. the chicken rendang chunks had quite a few bones, the bbq prawns were no thicker than my finger, the fish had more bones than meat. After everything was done, we had our dessert, and the options were chendol or iced cocktail and attap-seeds. I chose the latter. my brother had the chendol, and when the dessert came out i was really disappointed. the chendol was worse than what you find at any coffee shop, and their attap seed was fake, those made from flour or whatever. both the dessert came with huge mountains of ice.

verdict: attractive, but no good. go try it yourself if you don't believe me.
