Last semester in RP, we did a brief discussion on the topic of respect for module G104, Contemporary Issues in Culture and Aesthetics, which i believe must be brought into discussion again.

I believe that, Respect is a Right and not a Privilege, that is to say, any living or non-living being or object, has a right to be Respected. Anyone and anything should be respected, just for being who or what they are, and that is the bare minimum of respect that i believe should be given to anyone, even if you do not know the person. If you fail to even give the opposite party that little amount of respect, then you have lost that base level of respect that was your birthright. My great-grandmother used to say to me before her passing, "su lang bo su din, su din, lan jiao bin", which means to say, you can lose to others in many ways, but lose their respect, then you're a cuntface/dickhead. When you lose that bare minimum of respect, then you're basically not even fit to be seen in broad daylight.

Bringing yesterday's incident into the topic: I understand that all of you who are jieyang's friends posted those comments to defend him, basically that's what i did to defend jonathan on jieyang's blog. If you stood in my shoes for a moment, you would have seen that what i did for jonathan was basically the same as what you did for jieyang,i believe we would always help our friends compared to an outsider, no matter right or wrong

I admit that the comments i made were rather mean, and i apologised to jieyang for the comments that i made, although the bottom line still stays. Jieyang, too, had said that he was sorry about what he commented on his blog, and we agreed not to bring up this matter between us anymore. This way, jieyang raised the respect that i had from him, away from that bare minimum, and i now i have a much higher level respect for him. After all, it was wrong of me to have butt in like this.

On the otherhand, those of you who had commented on my tagboard did not, your tags failing to show courage, but more importantly, showing much disrespect, not only to me but for some, to those who are studying in Republic Polytechnic.

I assure you that, in terms of I.Q, we who study in RP or other polytechnics, most definitely will not lose to you people who study in JCs

This is not a laughing matter. The misconception of polytechnic students being "lousier" than those who are in JC is prominent in middle-aged singaporeans, but i'm ashamed that you people, who are all around my age and are supposedly more open-minded, still think this way. Well, here's soimething for you to think about: there are people with scores that are around yours or even better, that choose to settle in a diploma course in the polytechnic of their choice, and in one case that i know of, even settled in ITE because he believes that ITE is the path he should take. Tell me now, do any of these people "lose" to you in terms of your results? i believe not. In fact, they might be much better, in a sense that they have already decided on their path in life

another tag that really pisses me off: do not act like who you aren't. no point hiding behind a screen and acting like a bloody ahbeng when you have no clue about how they actually are. comenmeetup, don't you even dare try and intimidate me, you have no idea what i've done or what i'm capable of.

i rest my case.
